Energy savings are expressed in kWh or MWh but do not necessarily correspond to the energy savings shown on the annual energy invoice thanks to the works carried out.

The active and incentivising role is a role that energy suppliers or one of their partners must justify with evidence. Any direct contribution made to the recipient is considered an active and incentivising role. The incentive may take on different forms (financing, advice, miscellaneous support, etc.) and the recipient must be informed of such before placing an order for works.

Since 2015, gas and electricity suppliers have an obligation to encourage consumers to make energy savings in homes, functional buildings, industries, etc. in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
